How can I set Gmail as my default email client in Solve? (Chrome, Firefox, Safari)

You’ll first need to disable Solve’s Webmail add-on. Click Solve menu > Access Webmail > Settings > under the ‘Sending’ tab select “None”. Then follow the brief steps for your browser type as seen below.

Google Chrome

  1. Open Gmail in Chrome > click the Protocol Handler icon in your browser’s address bar (if you don’t see this icon, skip ahead to step 3)

  2. When prompted to “Allow mail.google.com to open all email links?”, select “Allow” > click “Done.” Then you’re done! Skip steps 3-5.

  3. If you were unable to see the Protocol Handler icon, click the Chrome menu icon in the top right corner of your browser > choose “Settings”.

  4. Click “Show Advanced Settings” link at the bottom of the screen > “Content Settings” button under the “Privacy” header.

  5. In the pop-up window, scroll down to the “Handlers” section > click “Manage Handlers” > select mail.google.com from the mailto dropdown > Done.

For Firefox

  1. In the top-right corner of your Firefox browser, click the menu button > Options.

  2. Click the “Applications” tab > type “mailto” into the search bar > click the drop-down arrow next to the “Action” column > Use Gmail > OK.

Safari

  1. Download Google’s Mailto Extension for Safari. Click the download arrow (top-right) > select the download > click “Install”.

  2. Select Gmail from the list of options.

  3. Restart your browser, and you’re all set!
